Dr. Binbin Weng is an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Oklahoma (OU), and he also serves as the Director of Operations for the OU Microfabrication Research and Education Center. He received his B.S. degree in Physics from Xiamen University and M.S. degree in Semiconductor Physics from Zhejiang University, China. In 2012, he earned his doctoral degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at OU. After the graduation, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, and later a Research Scientist at OU until 2017. Currently, his group focuses on both fundamental and applied research in mid-infrared photonics to studies the advanced optical structures such as photonic crystals, plasmonic structures, and metamaterials for advancing modern light applications in a broad range of areas such as thermal imaging, chemical sensing, wireless data communication, and renewable energy harvesting.
